Within a certain timespan, free parking is permitted in “blue zones” subject to the use of a parking disc. Blue zones are always indicated by a combination of the usual parking signage and a parking disc symbol.
Procedure
The “blue zone” scheme is applied from Monday to Sunday all year round. A disc must be displayed between the hours of 09:00 and 18:00, unless specified otherwise on the parking signage.
Please note that this means you also need to display a disc on Sundays and statutory public holidays. The official statutory public holidays are as follows: 1 January, Easter Monday, 1 May, Ascension Day, Whit Monday, 21 July, 15 August (Assumption Day), 1 November (All Saint’s Day), 11 November (Armistice Day) and 25 December (Christmas Day).
The normal parking time in blue zones is 180 minutes, unless specified otherwise on the parking signage (e.g. “30 min” or “max. two hours”).
The arow on the parking disc must be placed on the line that follows the hour of your arrival.
For example, if you arrive at 09:53,
the arrow must be placed at the line for “10”. The permitted parking time is 3 hours, meaning it will expire at 13:00.
Amount
The following rates apply to parking on public roads in blue zones:
Free for the maximum duration permitted by the parking signage and on the condition that a parking disc used in a valid manner is clearly displayed behind the windscreen of the car.
Rate: EUR 30 for any period in excess of the free period.
Exemptions:
• people with a disabled parking badge
• residents with a resident’s permit
• people with a municipal parking badge for care providers
Exemption from charges will only be granted if a disabled parking badge or municipal parking badge for care providers is displayed in a clearly visible location behind the windscreen. If this is not the case, we will at all times assume that you have opted to pay the flat-rate amount.
