Along the way, you will come across bunkers, former defences and memorial sites that testify to the impact of the war on the region. Among others, you will pass by the Flakberg Blekkaart, where a WWII bunker can still be seen, the military hospital, where Belgian soldiers were cared for in both WWI and WWII, and the war graves at St Rikiers Church, where Belgian, British and American soldiers rest.
