If history is your bag, make sure you visit the charming Turkeyenhof museum. This polder farmstead dating back to 1737 will give you an insight into the lives of people in the eighteenth century. You’ll find out everything you wanted to know about how they lived and worked.
And that’s not all: you’ll also get to explore a collection of tools used for long-lost professions, as well as an impressive display of shells, fossils and even a set of mammoth remains, all discovered by Flemish fishermen and women throughout the years.
The farmstead also houses the Ter Cuere local history group and serves as a history centre. In the summer, (free) folk concerts and folk dancing nights take place in the atmospheric farmyard garden. The ambiance is guaranteed to be unforgettable!
