Ryckewaertshof boasts a wealth of history. It’s old, but by no means out! The Benedictines of Sint-Rikiers built this monastery in the 13th or 14th century, and it was purchased by the municipal authorities in 1980. After a thorough renovation, it was converted into a cultural centre. Every now and then, it also hosts an exhibition or concert.
Marvel at the permanent Anto Diez collection
If you appreciate a dash of art, the canvases by Anto Diez (1914-1992) are an absolute must. Diez was a Belgian fine arts painter with Spanish blood. His style features bold shapes, pure expression and raw honesty. Expressionism at its best, in other words. He donated a unique collection to Bredene, and the building is named in his honour.
